NAMI Pierce County News & Announcements
What a year it’s been! 2020 will surely be etched in all our memories for years to come. As the year comes to a close, we celebrate our volunteers for their work this year and say goodbye to the current Board of Directors as they compete their term at the end of this month. Here’s some news and announcements of relevance as we end the year:
Volunteer Recognition Awards: It’s a virtual event this year and everyone’s invited to attend Wednesday, Dec 16 from 6-8 pm. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to have dinner this year since it’s going to be on Zoom, but we’re looking forward to seeing you, your family, and friends online. If you are an honoree, please RSVP to the email invitation you received with an address to mail your award to. Everyone can log on using the link on our website at http://www.namipierce.org. Come celebrate our volunteers!
Save the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Dept: Please write to the Pierce County Council and Pierce County Executive Bruce Dammier demanding they vote NO on Proposed Ordinance No. 2020-136, which aims to dismantle the Tacoma Pierce County Health Dept during the midst of a pandemic and without community input or adequate warning. The TPCHP is a strong advocate of mental health and a partner of ours, supporting us through grants and resources. The Council will be voting on this ordinance on Dec 15 with a short opportunity for public comment prior to the vote. You may submit your comments in writing through the following link:
Thank you to the 2019-2020 Board of Directors: We thank the current NAMI Pierce County Board of Directors for their dedication and service during the past two years.
