“Bake the Stigma” of Mental Illness
Come join us for our “Bake the Stigma” of Mental Illness
In recognition of World Mental Health Day, NAMI Pierce County will be having a community mental health awareness event. The theme is “Bake the Stigma” and will feature a bake sale with proceeds going towards NAMI Pierce County’s mental health support programs. NAMI Pierce County (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is dedicated to providing Support, Education, Advocacy, and Public Awareness so that families and individuals affected by mental illness can build better lives.
Groups and organizations in the Pierce County mental health community are invited to participate in this event, share resources and to also to speak to the community about their organization. There is a small donation fee for a table/booth at the event; however, baked goods that can be added to the bake sale table will be accepted in lieu of a cash donation. Each group or organization will be given 3 minutes to speak about their group and another 5 minutes if they wish to speak on suicide prevention, this year’s theme for World Mental Health Day.
