Prior to retiring and moving to the Great North West, Angela was President and CEO of Melador Technologies Inc., a high tech solution provider that supports various government and corporate clients throughout the United States. Under Mrs. Walker’s brilliant stewardship, Melador Technologies was renowned for Information Technology (IT) consulting and engineering support for a wide range of companies that perform critical services in the federal, state and local government sectors.
Some of Mrs. Walker’s notable achievements and awards include The Entrepreneur Spirit Award, CBCC Small Business of the Year Award, LA/MBOC Minority Technology Company of The Year Award, National Assoc. of Women Business Owners Hall of Fame Award. She has been featured on “Making It: Minority Success Stories, Front Page of the LA Times Newspaper Business section and KNBC TV Morning Show.
Mrs. Walker was also Founder and CEO of the Melador Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing information technologies to inner-city youth. The foundation provided annual scholarships to young people from the inner cities that demonstrated an interest in pursuing educational opportunities in the field of computer technology.
Mrs. Walker passion/desire to make a difference in the lives of people affected with mental illness and help stop the stigma associated with people living mental illness brought her to NAMI Pierce County.
